Click the link for an interesting piece on the Telegraph website to find out about an interesting new technology which can cool drinks, including full bottles of wine, to four degrees Celsius in a matter of seconds.
The term ‘reverse microwave’ is wildly misleading, though, as the device actually uses a Rankine vortex to spin the drink within a bath of water, allowing it to be cooled without fizzing. There’s a video on the website you can watch if you want to see how it works for yourself.
Even so, it’s pretty impressive, and could revolutionalise chilling in the way the microwave revolutionalised cooking. Watch this space!
